Rend Lake Hunting Preserve

Overview

The first of September brings migrating flocks of doves. Northern cold fronts send doves winging southward during the entire month. They will feed in sunflower or silage fields, however, during the day they will water at the edge of a pond and roost at night in nearby hedgerows or pine groves.
